Everything thanks to Capcom's conference (which wa more 'business' than 'party'). It brought a lot of Resident Evil news and surprises. In the end of 2003, new adverts arrived. They were about the new technology in Playstation 2 allowing netplay. Nobody was aware of the fact, that lots of games will have a multiplayer option in the future. CAPCOM wanted to catch up with the standards, so they made network Resident Evil games. | Mod rewrite on Revideos! |

As some of you have noticed, there's been something strange happening on Revideos. The links have been acting strange - they've been dissapearing and changing their forms into something more understandable. What's going on? From thoday, there will be a new mothod of writing links.
Instead of:
http://www.revideos.net/ player.php?dzial=Resident%20Evil%... - etc.
You will have:
www.revideos.net/ re4_mercenaries_60k_by_ifyou.html
Don't you think that's a lot nicer?
Not only for us. This have a huge influence on positioning. Sites with a lot of variables are indexed less effectively by search engines. That does not have a good influence on the popularity of the site.

Just as promised, the movie quality will be gettin better and better. We present to you, the very first movie in better quality. This isn't of course HD quality, but I think it's good enough. This isn't of course our last word in the topic, but the FLV video format has some drawbacks. Although the movies are converted in their original resolution at 25pfs, they are far from the original quality.
Another factor effecting quality is the method of recording. Movies can be recorded directly from the screen (digital) or with a camera (analog). Unfortunately, the second option doesn't handle 3d graphics too well, and without proper modulation, the movie looks like crap.
So, it's up to you - 640x480 resolution is optimal. We can guarantee that we won't resize videos sent in that resolution.

Yes, Yes, Yes !
This is all I can say after finishing work and achieving success. This success is the new FLASH PLAYER !
So, what's the big deal?
Here end all the problems with compatibility, lack of codecs, and stuff like that.
After several tests (including betatesters from the country and from other ones), I can say that the new player is up and working. Even on slower connections, you can enjoy the movies.
It wasn't easy.
The idea of creating a flash player came to me a few months ago, but due to lack of time it wasn't availible until now. I huge amounts of time on coversion, uploading, and coding, but the effect is satisfying.
Before I invite you to watching, I want to tell you something abou the player itself.
If you don't have the latest flash player installed, you will be prompted to update it. After updating, you should see a window with a big PLAY button in the center.
That was the first step, the second is to press the PLAY button and enjoy the movie. The player offers a FULL SCREEN mode in native mode. In that mode, you can use a small control panel that is located outside the movie. Everything can change - it all depends on you.
Getting back to technical issues, tha player has a few modern solutions which may not be noticed from the beginning.
We call it the "Start to load" system. It's task is to use the server's resources only when they are needed.
So, when you open a page with a movie (sometimes a long one) and leave the browser in "stand by", those megabytes would have been loaded for nothing, if you had changed your mind. This is solved - the movie won't start to load until you press the PLAY button.
This is really essential today - all thanks to internet providers limiting the transfer. The money we save on transfer can be invested into some new functionalities on the site.
Enough of technical stuff. As I said before, the site is for you and you create it. So, we want to know your opinion by a poll. When we know what you think about the new player, we can start improving it.
We really want the player (the core of revideos) to be as good as it can be. Despite the poll, we want to read your opinions in the comments and on our forum. Tell us about your browser and how the player works on it. Stuff like this will help us a lot.
Here the technical stuff finally ends and I can get to the most important part - check out the new player and use revideos at it's full. |

Today (it was supposed to be a surprise) the new flash movie player will be launched. all I can say is that it will be functional, an it will have the full screen (native) option. so, with only a single click, you will be able to view movies on fullscreen.
the player will be implemented in a couple of hours. Because of this, we had to turn off the current player, so you won't be albe to watch any movies for that time. We hope you'll forgive us.
The next news is going to be about activating the new player, so stay with us.
ADDED (17:50):
We're having some delays. We won't be able to launch the new player so fast. The servers are currently overloaded, but after all this mess, everything's going to be fine. |
